Parent Update December 17 3rd ELA
Last week in 3rd grade reading and English, we finished watching Because of Winn-Dixie, the movie, and we compared the movie to the book. They worked very hard to practice their informational text structures with partners. We continue to work on all parts of speech, but with a focus of pronouns. On our writing day, they were taught how to create paragraphs from their brainstorm, and we did this in the computer lab to also work on their typing skills. Friday, they had their mentor sentence quiz, and enjoyed one small activity for Feel Good Friday. 4th ELA Last week in 4th grade reading and English, students were introduced to our new whole class novel, Holes. Our new novel is about a group of kids that get sent to the desert to dig holes to build character. We are still focusing on story plot, and they watched Charlie Brown Christmas in order to practice.
