We will be starting our next whole class novel before Spring Break! 5th ELA Last week in 5th grade reading and English, our biggest focus was still school speech contest. In addition to listening to examples, writing, timing each other, and practicing, we added a new twist to class. They are having fun doing impromptu speeches, which allows them to get in front of the class for 1 minute to get used to having an audience, and it challenges them to talk off of the top of their head with no preparation. We also finished our second book in our trilogy.
