Parent Update Week of October 15th 3rd ELA In 3rd grade ELA, we are continuing to practice some skills we learned last week, and as we continue to practice inferences, we started to add a holiday flare. The inferences this week were based on Halloween costumes. We are also continuously working on our writing process. Right now, I have been giving them topics to pick from, and they have to prewrite/brainstorm and from there they create sentences. 4th ELA In 4th grade ELA, students received new Greek and Latin root words, they continued to practice helping, linking, and action verbs, and they are still working on the beginning part of the writing process, getting from pre-writing to creating an outline to drafting. We read a couple chapters out of our whole class novel. Number the Stars. And lastly, they enjoyed a Feel Good Friday with ELA centers. 5th ELA In 5th grade ELA, students received new Greek and Latin root words, they continued to practice helping, linking, and action verbs, and they are still working on the beginning part of the writing process, getting from pre-writing to creating an outline to drafting.
