3rd ELA
This week in 3rd grade English and Reading, we have been working on nonfiction text. They read an informational article about the Titanic. As the students read they learned about parts of a nonfiction book, such as, table on contents, index, visual aids, etc. We also read survivor stories, and they watched a couple of clips on how the Titanic sunk. They really enjoyed this mini unit and several of them looked up facts and books on the Titanic on their own. Greek and Latin root words have been a focus for the last couple of weeks, so they looked up words with the root audio (sound) and did an activity on those words. They also continue to work on conjunctions, and they enjoyed a Feel Good Friday. 4th ELA This week in 4th grade English and Reading, they received a new Greek and Latin root word unit, which they created a Quizlet on in order for them to practice.
