Parent update week of October 9
3rd Grade ELA
This week in 3rd grade English and Reading, students had an interactive notebook lesson on main idea and details. We practiced together as a class, watched a Brainpop video on main idea, and next week they will start to practice on their own. They also have been learning about analogies and figuring out relationships between words. We practiced everyday together, and will continue to practice into next week. Our classroom novel is still being read out loud together, and they are all working on finding chapter books they enjoy reading independently. On Friday, they enjoyed a round of literacy centers.
